APRs and Transcripts

APR’s (Academic Progress Reports) or Internal Transcripts can be requested for

  • an individual student,
  • for students in a course section, or
  • for students in an Academic Plan (major or concentration).

Both reports include student course registrations and grades, test and placement information, and transfer credit information.  The APR sorts Williams courses by Division and Subject; this gives a quick review of a student’s progress towards college distribution and major requirements.  The Internal Transcript sorts information chronologically.  Each requested report will e-mail as a link within a few minutes. If you are still logged in to PeopleSoft/Student Records, the link will open a .pdf; if you are not still logged in, the link will first open the login page.

APR/Transcript Guide

The Internal Transcript sorts information chronologically.

test credit section prints on each report and includes Advanced Placement, Int’l Baccalaureate, A-Levels and Williams Placement exam results. Placement test results include any equivalent courses awarded and a FYPL course, where the FYPL title describes the recommended placement, e.g.

  • AP Calculus AB, Score 5
    • MATH 130-AP Calculus I (EQ)
    • MATH 140-AP Calculus II (EQ)
    • FYPL 7 MATH 150 or 200

indicates the student earned the equivalents of MATH 130 and 140, which can be used as prerequisites for other courses, and and the student should place into MATH 150 or 200.

transfer credit section prints for any student who has transfer courses for credit or placement. The transfer credit prints in chronological sequence on the Internal Transcript or as a separate section on the APR. The information will include the source of the credit, a transfer course with a title describing the context of the credit, e.g. ‘Study Away’, or ‘Summer Sch/Course Def’, and any equivalent Williams courses if applicable. Grades for transfer credit are: T – credit or placement; TW – WSP credit; TM – credit towards major requirements approved by the department; or TZ – in progress work.

summary information section provides a summary of progress towards degree requirements plus the cumulative GPA.

notes section includes withdrawal and readmission information along with any notes from Committee on Academic decisions.
